Per our discussion in the Thursday night meeting I did look up the use of spotter aircraft in SEEKRIEG. 1. Spotter aircraft should not have been used in conjunction with fire control radar. 2. Spotter aircraft should only be used with the launching ship. The ship logs would indicate who had spotter aircraft and who did not. This means only the Salt Lake City could have (and did) launch a spotter plane with the purpose of locating the Japanese fleet. The Japanese ships launched a spotter plane for the same reason. Once shooting commenced then the Japanese could have launched more aircraft. Historically, the Salt Lake City was heavily damaged and 2 destroyers were slightly damaged. As for the Japanese, the Nachi was moderately damaged, and the Maya was slightly damaged. We can always relive this battle with lessons learned. I did not have an ironclad set of victory conditions. I am not sure what going through Admiral Hosogaya's mind when he ordered his fleet to retire from the battle area. I can only guess that his main concern was the fuel consumption at battle speeds. Given the Japan was cut off from her fuel sources his ships would have been of no value anchored at Attu Island with insufficient fuel stocks to return to Japan. -Phil

Not quite sure how I found this: https://zappa.brainiac.com/spaceship/spaceship.html This link covers ship models for multiple games including BattleFleet Gothic (BFG). It is mostly images of each of the ships used, so I am not sure if there are any ship profiles. -Phil Willows

Hi All, Some of you may have played Fireball Forward. The World War II rules written by Mark Fastoso and Jonathan Miller. If you are in the never-ever-have-I-played group or if you need a refresher then YouTube is your next destination. URL: www.youtube.com When you get there type the following into the search box: Fireball Forward Tutorial <enter> There are 6 tutorials covering the basics. There are other rules that they don't talk about; Snipers, Aerial Attacks, bombardments and barrages. Don't forget everyone's favorite...the BLUNDER! I lost my Hauptman to a Stuka attack. It's ok until you need to do a rally. Scheisse!!!😄 There is OP-fire and plenty of chances for it, especially in the desert...hint hint. Let me know if you have any questions, -Phil

I have a ton of troops base-coated and/or painted in both 15mm and 28mm. British, Italian and German as infantry and armor. It seems like every time I turn around and open another box I find more tanks and troops for North Africa. The only question I have is what set of rules does everyone like? I have FoW, Rate of Fire, Battlegroup along with all the expansions. I also have Arc of Fire, Battleground Easy-Eight, Beer and Pretzels, Cross Fire (not real good at these), and Fireball Forward. I probably have other rules sets, just not sure where they are hiding.😄 I am open to other rules sets...Rapid Fire? So, what does everyone want? Try to let me know by the middle of September so I can start putting the forces and terrain together. Thanks, -Phil
